Albert is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, the highest specialty recognition given by the Florida Bar. This designation is bestowed on less than 6% of all active lawyers. He specializes in all types of cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, defective products and premises liability, with a particular emphasis on jury trials in such cases.
Albert was born and raised in Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his law degree from the University of Baltimore. While in law school, Albert was an editor of the school’s Law Review, an honor reserved for the top 10% of the class. He was also a two year member of the law school’s mock trial team, which was twice semi-finalists in a national mock trial competition. He graduated from the University of Baltimore cum laude.
After law school, Albert completed a one year judicial clerkship for four circuit court trial judges. Following his clerkship, Albert entered private practice. He practiced for almost ten years with and became a partner of a prestigious plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Rockville, Maryland. In those ten years, Albert tried a high number of cases. His courtroom successes led to him often teaching trial techniques to other lawyers at numerous continuing legal education programs.
Three years ago, Albert and his family decided to relocate to Jacksonville. Since 2007, Albert has handled a wide variety of plaintiff’s personal injury cases in Jacksonville. As he did previously, Albert has completed a high number of jury trials. He has achieved numerous jury verdicts in excess of $1 million dollars, with most verdicts substantially in excess of the defendant’s final settlement offer. Since relocating to Jacksonville, Albert has been asked to teach trial techniques to fellow lawyers on several occasions.
Albert is licensed in Florida, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice in the Middle District of Florida, and all federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia. In 2011, he received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available by the national attorney peer review rating service. An AV ® Rating signifies that the lawyer has reached the heights of professional excellence, has usually practiced law for a number of years and is recognized for the highest levels of ethical standards and legal ability. He also became Board Certified Trial Attorney, which means the Florida Bar recognizes him as an expert in his field of law.
Albert, his wife, and their son and daughter live in Ponte Vedra Beach. In his spare time, Albert plays golf, enjoys fishing, wing shooting and occasionally surfing, all activities he very often shares with his children. He and his wife are active in numerous local charities.
