The victim was at the Shannon Ridge apartments in Northwest Jacksonville when he was shot by another individual.  The person responsible for shooting the victim fled the scene prior to police responding.  The shooting happened about 10 p.m.  As of now, the victim is fighting for his life at Shands Jacksonville. Shannon Ridge apartments has a history of prior criminal acts occuring there.  In fact, this is the second shooting that has occurred at the Shannon Ridge apartments in less than 2 years.  On January 27, 2011, a man was taken to Shands after being shot in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
