News4Jax reports that the Arlington area had two crashes Wednesday morning that backed up traffic for hours.  The first accident occurred at a pedestrian crossing on Atlantic Boulevard and Century 21 Drive.  The individual was crossing at the pedestrian crossing when he was struck by a pickup truck.  The man died as a result.  The driver of that vehicle stopped, so JSO is actively investigating the crash. A witness tells News4Jax the man was not in the crosswalk when the crash happened. Action News also had reporters at the accident site.  Witnesses observed police gathering evidence and measurements at the scene. The body of the man was taken away by medical examiners. One man was in handcuffs at the scene. Police also visited nearby businesses, asking to see their surveillance videos. The man who was hit was in his 50s or 60s.  Action News Jax spoke to nearby business owners who say they witness several accidents at this busy intersection.

Soon after, there was a crash where University Blvd and Cesery Blvd intersect. According to JSO, a driver hit a car that was behind a JTA bus, then tried to get around that car, and ended up hitting the bus.   Out of the nine people on the bus, two people were taken to the hospital with injuries.  There is no word from police on whether the driver who hit the bus will face charges.
